Who we are...
The Puerto Rico country project is one of four programs in the EWB - UW Madison chapter. As students of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we represent a unique mix of individuals who aim to use our wide range of skills towards building a better and more sustainable world. Our first project in Puerto Rico (March 2018 - December 2020) was with Hogar Albergue para Niños Jesús de Nazaret, a children's shelter in Mayaguez. Our latest completed project was located at the ID Shaliah Resilience Center, where we installed a solar power system that successfully producing 62 kWh per day and currently has 72 hours of backup time in the event of a grid outage. Currently, our team has partnered the Ven-Rose Foundation to implement a solar PV system for a medical center in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
